Vise and Bitwise Roll Out Crypto Model Portfolios to 135,000 Advisor Accounts

Wealth management platform Vise and crypto asset manager Bitwise announced the rollout of diversified cryptocurrency model portfolios to hundreds of wealth firms and more than 135,000 accounts on Vise’s platform, according to the companies’ joint announcement. The partnership brings Bitwise’s crypto model portfolios directly into Vise’s existing advisor platform, which manages more than $140 billion in assets, rather than requiring advisors to hold crypto exposure through a separate account or tool.

The crypto models integrate directly into a client’s overall portfolio alongside equities, fixed income, and alternative assets, rather than sitting apart as a standalone allocation. Vise sizes each crypto allocation to the client’s individual risk profile, rebalances it on the same schedule as the rest of the portfolio, and applies its existing tax-management strategies to the crypto holdings just as it does for traditional assets, treating digital assets as a native part of portfolio construction rather than a bolt-on product.

Bitwise, which manages roughly $9 billion in client assets, offers two categories of model within the partnership. “Core” models provide broad exposure across the crypto ecosystem, while “Thematic” portfolios emphasize more specific strategies, such as risk-managed exposure or allocations that exclude bitcoin in favor of other digital assets. The companies cited the model portfolio industry’s rapid growth as context for the launch, noting that assets in model portfolios industrywide grew from roughly $400 billion in 2023 to about $930 billion in 2026, a 135% increase, alongside a broader digital asset class now valued at roughly $2.5 trillion globally.

“Crypto only works in a portfolio if it’s treated like a real allocation, sized to the client’s risk, monitored, and brought back to target when it drifts,” said Runik Mehrotra, Vise’s co-founder and co-head. Juan Leon, Bitwise’s senior investment strategist, said “bringing cutting-edge personalized investing tools to every investor is what meaningful financial innovation is all about,” framing the partnership as an extension of both companies’ work making sophisticated allocation tools available to a wider set of financial advisors.

The launch adds Vise to a growing list of wealth management platforms building direct crypto model portfolio integrations, as financial advisors face increasing client demand for digital asset exposure delivered through the same infrastructure they already use for traditional accounts, rather than through a separate crypto-specific brokerage relationship.
