  • The new site sits on a 1-acre substation-adjacent lease in Dyersburg, Tennessee, and brings Atlantic’s total utility-approved capacity to 127 MW, with 76 MW under development

Aperture AC and Atlantic HPC Group Inc. announced in a release distributed on GlobeNewswire at 07:30 a.m. ET on September 30, 2026 that they have completed Atlantic’s acquisition of Valley Oasis Development LLC, adding 29 MW of contracted power capacity to the platform.

The acquisition, which formally closed on September 23, 2026, centers on a 1-acre land lease at 1 Bekaert Drive in Dyersburg, Tennessee, roughly 86 miles from Memphis. The site sits adjacent to a substation on heavy-industrial zoned land and is served by the Dyersburg Electric System under power supplied by the Tennessee Valley Authority. No purchase price was disclosed.

The deal brings Atlantic’s total utility-approved power capacity to 127 MW, with an additional 76 MW currently under development, spanning facilities the company operates across Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ohio, and now Tennessee. Atlantic’s chief financial officer said in the release that “this acquisition marks a significant increase to our utility-approved capacity,” while Aperture chief executive Calvin Kung said that “in a grid-constrained environment, a larger portfolio of utility-approved capacity is a competitive advantage.”

Atlantic pursues what the companies describe as a “power first” strategy, securing utility-approved electrical capacity ahead of building out the compute infrastructure that will actually consume it, with facilities intended to support both bitcoin mining and high-density AI compute deployments depending on market conditions. That approach lets the company lock in scarce grid capacity, often the hardest and slowest resource to secure in today’s power-constrained buildout environment, before committing capital to the mining rigs or AI servers that will run on it.

The acquisition comes as Atlantic works toward becoming a publicly traded company through a business combination with Aperture AC, a special purpose acquisition company, a deal still pending SEC approval and a shareholder vote. Expanding utility-approved capacity ahead of that listing gives prospective public shareholders a larger, more diversified power portfolio to evaluate, spanning four states and mixing bitcoin mining with the AI compute buildout that has increasingly drawn capital toward power-rich sites originally developed for crypto mining.

Securing utility-approved capacity has become one of the tightest bottlenecks in both the bitcoin mining and AI data center industries over the past two years, as grid operators across the country face rising demand from large-scale compute buildouts at the same time interconnection queues have grown longer and more competitive. A site that already carries approved capacity and substation-adjacent zoning, like the Dyersburg property, can often reach energization far faster than a greenfield project still waiting on a utility interconnection study, which is part of why acquiring already-approved sites has become a common growth strategy for power-hungry mining and compute operators.
