- 21Shares disclosed in an October 6, 2026 SEC filing that it is extending its 100% sponsor fee waiver on the 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH) for another 12 months, through October 8, 2027
- The waiver applies automatically to all current and prospective shareholders of the Delaware-incorporated trust, which trades on Cboe BZX
- Net staking rewards on the fund’s ETH holdings stood at 2.65% as of October 1, 2026
21Shares US LLC, sponsor of the 21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF, filed an 8-K with the SEC dated October 6, 2026, announcing that it is extending its voluntary 100% waiver of sponsor compensation fees for the fund, which trades under the ticker TETH on Cboe BZX Exchange, for an additional 12 months through October 8, 2027.
The filing, submitted by Duncan Moir, president of 21Shares US LLC, said the waiver continues to apply automatically to all current and prospective shareholders of the trust without any action required on their part. The fund’s net staking reward stood at 2.65% as of October 1, 2026, a figure that reflects the yield generated by staking the ETH held within the trust after accounting for validator costs and other staking-related expenses.
“Extending our fee waiver for an additional 12 months underscores our commitment to providing investors with cost-efficient access to Ethereum,” said Duncan Moir, president and chief investment officer of 21Shares. “By combining a 100% fee waiver with the yield-generating power of network staking, we are continuing to pass the native benefits of blockchain technology directly back to our investors at zero cost,” he added.
By waiving its sponsor fee entirely rather than offering a partial discount, 21Shares is betting that the combination of a staking yield and a zero-cost structure will help TETH compete against rival ether ETFs from larger issuers such as BlackRock and Fidelity, several of which do not offer staking exposure at all given regulatory complexities around staking within ETF wrappers. The extension suggests 21Shares views the waiver as a durable competitive differentiator rather than a short-term promotional tactic tied to the fund’s launch.
The move comes as staking-enabled ether ETFs have become an increasingly important battleground among issuers, with funds racing to combine attractive yield figures with low or waived fees to capture investor interest. TETH’s continued zero-fee structure, paired with its staking rewards, keeps the fund positioned as one of the more cost-competitive ways for US investors to gain exposure to ether’s underlying network economics through a regulated exchange-traded vehicle, a positioning 21Shares appears determined to defend through another full year of waived fees.
