  • Bithumb announced on October 14, 2026 that it will end trading support for Blast (BLAST), citing unresolved concerns tied to the token’s existing trading-caution designation
  • Trading in BLAST will end October 26, 2026 at noon, timed to coincide with the Blast Foundation’s own announced plan to shut down the network that same day
  • Withdrawal support will continue through November 26, 2026 at 3 p.m., though Bithumb warned that date could shift once the actual network shutdown proceeds

Bithumb, one of South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, said on October 14, 2026 that it is delisting Blast, the token behind the Blast Layer 2 network, after concluding that the project’s own explanations failed to resolve the concerns that had placed BLAST under a trading-caution designation. According to Bithumb’s notice, the exchange reviewed both the Blast Foundation’s response and the project’s actual progress and token utility before determining that BLAST no longer met the exchange’s criteria for continued trading support.

The timing of Bithumb’s delisting is directly tied to Blast’s own fate as a network. On October 2, 2026, the Blast Foundation had announced on X that the Blast network itself would shut down entirely on October 26, 2026, and Bithumb explicitly aligned its trading cutoff date with that same network shutdown date, meaning BLAST trading on the exchange ends precisely when the underlying blockchain it runs on ceases to function.

Trading in BLAST on Bithumb will stop on October 26, 2026 at 12:00 local time, at which point the exchange will cancel any unfilled buy and sell orders and halt API trading access for the token. Withdrawal support, which lets users move their BLAST holdings off the exchange, will remain available somewhat longer, through November 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., though Bithumb cautioned that this date could change depending on how the actual network shutdown unfolds, with any adjustment to be communicated through a separate notice.

Bithumb’s notice laid out blunt warnings for users still holding BLAST. Once the network shuts down, technical support functions such as mainnet operations, hard forks, airdrops and token swaps are likely to stop working entirely, and withdrawal capability itself may become restricted once the blockchain is no longer operational. Users looking to move BLAST to an overseas virtual asset service provider or a personal wallet before the cutoff were advised to register their destination address on Bithumb’s whitelist well in advance, since the review process for whitelisting new addresses takes time to complete.

The exchange reiterated its standard risk language that cryptocurrency assets carry high risk and can result in partial or total loss of invested funds, framing the Blast delisting within its broader policy for handling tokens tied to networks that are discontinuing operations. The notice, published on Bithumb’s official announcement feed, directed users with questions about post-deadline withdrawals to a separate support guide linked from the announcement itself.
