- The new investment, disclosed October 22, 2026, supports Aurelion’s existing treasury of roughly $134 million in XAU₮, a tokenized, LBMA-gold-backed asset
- Following the deal’s closing, Antalpha’s ownership of Aurelion is expected to rise to about 33.4 percent of shares and 78.8 percent of voting power
Aurelion Inc. disclosed on October 22, 2026 that Antalpha Platform Holding Company, its controlling shareholder, has agreed to invest a further $2 million into the company to support its tokenized gold treasury strategy. Under the agreement, an Antalpha subsidiary will subscribe for 952,381 newly issued Class B ordinary shares at a price of $2.10 per share, with the closing subject to customary conditions and a long-stop date of December 21, 2026.
The fresh capital is earmarked for working capital and general operating expenses rather than for directly purchasing more of the underlying tokenized gold asset itself. That asset, XAU₮, commonly known as Tether Gold, is a token backed one-to-one by physical gold bars meeting standards set by the London Bullion Market Association, giving holders onchain exposure to gold’s price without needing to custody physical bullion themselves.
Aurelion built its current XAU₮ position, worth roughly $134 million, following an earlier capital raise in October 2025 that brought in approximately $150 million, combining a $100 million private investment in public equity round led by Antalpha with $50 million in senior debt financing. That earlier raise established the foundation of what the company now describes as its core digital-gold treasury strategy, with this new $2 million investment serving as an incremental follow-on rather than a change in direction.
Before this transaction, Antalpha held approximately 31.7 percent of Aurelion’s shares and pre-funded warrants, translating into roughly 77.5 percent of total voting power. Once the new investment closes, those figures are expected to rise to approximately 33.4 percent of shares and 78.8 percent of voting power, modestly deepening Antalpha’s already dominant control over the company. Aurelion Chief Executive Officer Frank Zheng said the investment reinforces Antalpha’s commitment to Aurelion’s next phase of development and gives the company additional financial flexibility, while Antalpha Chief Financial Officer Paul Liang said Aurelion’s focus on digital gold infrastructure complements Antalpha’s own expertise in financing and risk management.
The deal illustrates a pattern among smaller publicly traded companies that have built treasuries around a single tokenized asset, in this case gold rather than bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, often relying on a single large, controlling shareholder to provide follow-on financing as needed to sustain the strategy rather than raising capital more broadly from public markets. The announcement, filed with the SEC, did not disclose any plans for Aurelion to grow its XAU₮ holdings beyond its current level using the newly raised funds.
