  • Uniswap Labs launched Aggregator Hooks on October 22, 2026, live on Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Robinhood Chain
  • The feature wraps external liquidity sources, including Curve, Fluid and PancakeSwap, so Uniswap’s own routing treats them as native v4 pools, settling trades in one transaction
  • Swaps routed through those external liquidity sources still pay Uniswap protocol fees, which feed into UNI token burns

Uniswap Labs announced on October 22, 2026 that it has launched a new feature called Aggregator Hooks, a significant architectural shift that effectively turns Uniswap v4 into a liquidity aggregator capable of routing trades through competing decentralized exchanges rather than relying solely on liquidity deposited directly into Uniswap’s own pools. The feature is live on Ethereum mainnet, the Base network, and Robinhood Chain.

The mechanism works by wrapping each external liquidity source in its own hook, a piece of custom logic that Uniswap v4’s architecture supports natively, so that Uniswap’s own routing system sees that external liquidity as if it were simply another native v4 pool. Uniswap said seven external liquidity sources are supported at launch, naming three specifically: Curve, Fluid, and PancakeSwap, three of the better-known decentralized exchanges operating in the same general market as Uniswap itself.

Despite pulling in liquidity from what are effectively competing platforms, Uniswap structured the feature so that trades settle in a single transaction, with the company’s own announcement emphasizing that users have nothing new to approve beyond what a normal Uniswap swap already requires. That single-transaction settlement is a meaningful technical achievement, since aggregating liquidity across multiple separate protocols typically risks adding complexity or additional transaction steps that could worsen the user experience rather than improve it.

Critically for Uniswap’s own token economics, swaps routed through these external liquidity sources still pay Uniswap’s own protocol fees, meaning the company can now potentially earn fee revenue on trading volume it does not directly host in its own liquidity pools. Those protocol fees feed into UNI token burns, a mechanism that reduces the token’s circulating supply over time, so expanding the pool of transactions that generate protocol fees could meaningfully increase the pace of those burns if the feature sees significant adoption.

Uniswap’s announcement said the platform has now processed more than $4.5 trillion in lifetime trading volume, underscoring its scale within decentralized finance even before accounting for any additional volume Aggregator Hooks might bring in from external sources going forward. The company described the shift plainly, stating that Uniswap v4 is now an aggregator, framing the launch as a natural extension of a governance proposal called “UNIfication” that the Uniswap community had taken up back in November 2025, tying this product launch directly to that earlier governance discussion about the protocol’s future direction. The announcement, published on Uniswap’s own blog, did not name the remaining four external liquidity sources supported at launch beyond the three it specifically identified.
