Solv Protocol Replaces LayerZero With Chainlink CCIP

Bitcoin-centric decentralized finance platform Solv Protocol announced that it will migrate to Chainlink CCIP from LayerZero following a major security incident involving the latter.

After an extensive security review, we have decided to deprecate @LayerZero_Core bridges for SolvBTC and xSolvBTC, and migrate to @Chainlink CCIP as our official cross-chain infrastructure solution for $700M+ in tokenized BTC (SolvBTC & xSolvBTC).

In a Thursday post, Solv Protocol stated that it will phase out LayerZero bridging support for SolvBTC and xSolvBTC across Corn, Berachain, Rootstock, and TAC. The protocol designated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its official cross-chain infrastructure solution for assets exceeding $700 million.

Kelp DAO’s Security-Driven Shift Following rsETH Exploit

The migration announcement comes amid increased industry focus on cross-chain security following the April 18, 2026 exploit involving Kelp DAO’s rsETH bridge infrastructure. According to details shared by Kelp DAO, attackers allegedly forged a cross-chain message connected to the LayerZero-powered bridge, leading to the unauthorized release of approximately 116,500 rsETH from Ethereum mainnet escrow. The assets were valued at nearly $292 million at the time of the incident.

The exploit triggered liquidity disruptions across connected decentralized finance protocols and intensified scrutiny around bridge verification models and cross-chain messaging systems. Kelp DAO later stated that its migration to Chainlink CCIP was part of broader efforts to strengthen security protections for rsETH and improve the reliability of its cross-chain infrastructure. The incident has since become one of the most closely watched bridge-related security events in the DeFi sector during 2026.

Solv Cites Security Review and Infrastructure Standards

“In light of recent industry events, Solv reviewed its existing bridges and found that CCIP provided the strongest security assurances through its secure-by-default architecture, native risk controls and proactive monitoring”, wrote in the post.

Solv Protocol also stated that CCIP is widely recognized as a standard for decentralized interoperability and noted that it has been officially recognized by the White House as critical digital asset infrastructure.
