- Robinhood introduced Robinhood Agents, letting customers build personalized AI trading agents that analyze markets and execute trades, with over 150,000 customers already using agentic trading since May 2026
- Eligible U.S. customers will get access to perpetual futures on BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE, with leverage up to 10x on bitcoin and ether and trading fees of just 0.01% through December 2026
- Robinhood plans to expand to 24/7 weekend stock trading, pending regulatory approval, using Bruce ATS for institutional-grade liquidity and execution
Robinhood announced a slate of new products in a press release published in its official newsroom on September 29, 2026, tied to its HOOD Summit 2026 event, under the headline “Robinhood Puts the Power of Hedge Funds in Every Trader’s Pocket.”
The centerpiece announcement is Robinhood Agents, an embedded AI feature that lets customers build personalized trading agents capable of analyzing markets, developing strategies, and executing trades autonomously within the app. Users can choose from several leading AI models, including OpenAI’s, and configure safety controls; manual trade approval is enabled by default. Robinhood said more than 150,000 customers have already adopted some form of agentic trading since May 2026, and it will offer free access to OpenAI’s GPT-Luna model through the end of the year. A related feature called “Loops,” enabling continuous automated strategy execution, is coming soon.
On the crypto side, eligible U.S. customers will gain access to perpetual futures on eight assets: BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE. Leverage goes up to 10x on bitcoin and ether and 3x on the remaining six tokens, offered through Robinhood Derivatives in partnership with Bitstamp, with trading fees held at just one basis point (0.01%) through December 2026 as an introductory incentive.
Robinhood also said it plans to expand its current 24-hour weekday trading to include Saturday and Sunday sessions for U.S. equities, pending regulatory approval, using Bruce ATS to provide institutional-grade liquidity and execution outside normal market hours. Chief executive Vlad Tenev framed the announcements around a broader mission of democratizing tools once reserved for professional traders, saying “ownership doesn’t work without markets, and markets don’t work with” limited access, while vice president of product management Abhishek Fatehpuria emphasized a safety-first approach to the AI features, noting that traders “whether you’re an expert or are just getting started with AI” need guardrails built in from the start.
Taken together, the announcements push Robinhood further into territory once occupied by hedge funds and professional trading desks: algorithmic execution, leveraged derivatives, and around-the-clock market access. The rollout also tests how much retail appetite exists for autonomous AI-driven trading once manual approval requirements are relaxed, and how regulators respond to a mainstream brokerage offering 10x leveraged crypto perpetuals alongside traditional stock trading in the same app.
