BNB Chain said Wednesday it has joined Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program, the card network’s initiative to link blockchain networks and crypto companies to its global payment rails.
The network announced the move in a post on its official X account, saying it would “work with Mastercard’s ecosystem to help bring that future closer to everyday commerce.” Neither BNB Chain nor Mastercard named a specific product, card, or launch date attached to the partnership.

The Timing Behind the Announcement
The timing lines up with two other moves inside Mastercard’s stablecoin push this year. Mastercard closed its $1.8 billion acquisition of stablecoin infrastructure firm BVNK on August 3, adding its own on-ramp, off-ramp and settlement tooling.
The move also comes as Mastercard expands its broader Mastercard AI payments strategy, exploring how digital assets, automated transactions and emerging technologies can support the next generation of global payments.
BNB Chain activated its Pasteur hard fork on August 25, an upgrade built to raise the network’s transaction capacity and tighten validator security.
In internal testing on BNB Chain’s QANet environment, the fork roughly doubled throughput, from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second, and cut validator processing time from 125 milliseconds to 15 milliseconds. Those are pre-mainnet test results, not confirmed figures from live network activity.
Where BNB Chain Fits in Mastercard’s Program
Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program, launched in March with more than 85 firms, organizes partners into five tracks: stablecoin issuers and infrastructure providers, on and off ramp providers, crypto card enablers, blockchains, and blockchain service providers.
BNB Chain joins Solana, Polygon and Tron in the blockchain track, while Binance, Circle, Ripple, PayPal and Paxos are among the companies already listed.
A Relationship that Predates the Program
BNB Chain’s addition extends a commercial relationship that predates the program. Binance, which built BNB Chain, has issued Mastercard-branded prepaid crypto cards since 2022 in Argentina, followed by Brazil the following year. Those cards let users spend crypto balances at any merchant that accepts Mastercard.
