Strategy Inc. announced in a regulatory filing that the company has acquired an additional 592 bitcoins for approximately $39.8 million, bringing its total bitcoin holdings to 717,722 BTC as of February 22, 2026. The average purchase price for the newly acquired coins was approximately $67,286 per bitcoin, according to Strategy’s social media statement.

The acquisition was disclosed in a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and it continues Strategy’s long-standing policy of accumulating bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset. The company’s cumulative bitcoin holdings are reported to have been acquired at an approximate total cost of $54.56 billion, with an average cost per bitcoin of around $76,020.

In its public statement on the social platform X, Strategy confirmed the acquisition details, reiterating that the firm “hodls” 717,722 $BTC, a term commonly used in the cryptocurrency space to indicate holding the asset long-term rather than selling. The announcement included specifics on the size of the purchase and the recording of total holdings.

Strategy has acquired 592 BTC for ~$39.8 million at ~$67,286 per bitcoin.

The latest acquisition marks another incremental increase in Strategy’s total bitcoin reserves, reinforcing its position as one of the largest corporate holders of the cryptocurrency. Strategy’s ongoing purchases have continued through periods of price volatility in the bitcoin market, with the firm consistently adding to its holdings over time.

According to the filing and public disclosures, Strategy’s treasury model emphasizes long-term retention of bitcoin as a reserve asset, which has made the company a notable participant in institutional bitcoin accumulation. The 717,722 BTC reported as of late February 2026 represents a substantial stockpile relative to the total fixed supply of 21 million bitcoins,

Strategy’s last transaction involved 2,486 BTC($168.4M) at $67,710 and we covered it here. This marks Strategy’s 100th disclosed bitcoin acquisition, underscoring the firm’s long-term accumulation approach. Over these 100 purchases, the company has steadily expanded its BTC treasury position.

Key Details from Strategy’s Announcement:

  • 592 BTC acquired in the latest purchase, costing about $39.8 million.
  • Average purchase price for this tranche: $67,286 per bitcoin.
  • Total bitcoin holdings: 717,722 BTC as of February 22, 2026.
