Blockchain.com and NYSE Group Sign MOU to Explore 24/7 Trading of Tokenized US Stocks and ETFs

  • Blockchain.com and NYSE Group signed a memorandum of understanding to explore giving Blockchain.com users access to tokenized US stocks and ETFs
  • Access would run through NYSE’s digital alternative trading system, pending regulatory approvals, enabling trading decoupled from traditional market hours
  • The deal includes bidirectional market data sharing between ICE Data Services and Blockchain.com’s 44 million account holders

Blockchain.com and NYSE Group signed a memorandum of understanding to explore giving Blockchain.com’s user base access to tokenized versions of US exchange-listed equities and ETFs, according to the companies’ joint announcement. Trading access would run through NYSE’s digital alternative trading system, an ATS built specifically to support tokenized securities, and remains subject to regulatory approvals before it goes live.

The pitch behind the partnership centers on trading hours: tokenized securities on a digital ATS can, in principle, trade outside the standard 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern window that governs traditional NYSE-listed equities, and outside US market holidays as well. For Blockchain.com’s international user base, that would mean access to US stocks and ETFs without waiting for US market hours, addressing a longstanding friction point for investors located in different time zones who currently can only trade US-listed securities during a narrow overlapping window.

The MOU also includes a bidirectional data-sharing component. ICE Data Services, NYSE’s parent-company data arm, will distribute Blockchain.com’s crypto market analytics to its traditional finance client base, while Blockchain.com will incorporate NYSE and ICE market data feeds for its own user base, which the company says totals roughly 44 million accounts. That exchange gives each side’s existing customers exposure to data from the other’s market, crypto data flowing into traditional finance channels and equity data flowing into crypto-native ones, without either company needing to build new data infrastructure from scratch.

“Tokenized stocks enable investment access globally, decoupled from traditional market hours and geographic limitations,” said Peter Smith, CEO and co-founder of Blockchain.com. Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group, said “digital assets’ innovation combined with traditional finance’s trust creates the capital markets’ future,” framing the partnership as a deliberate pairing of an established exchange’s regulatory standing with a crypto-native platform’s existing global user base.

The agreement adds to a broader wave of 2026 partnerships between traditional exchanges and crypto platforms aimed at bringing tokenized versions of conventional securities to a wider, more globally distributed set of investors. Because the arrangement remains an MOU rather than a finalized product launch, the timeline for Blockchain.com users actually gaining access to tokenized NYSE-listed securities depends on how quickly the companies can secure the regulatory approvals the announcement flagged as a precondition.
