BlackRock Deposits 1,814 BTC and 24,472 ETH to Coinbase Prime (Feb 24)

On-chain data shows BlackRock moved over $159 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum to Coinbase Prime in a recent institutional crypto transaction.

Global asset manager BlackRock has transferred a significant amount of digital assets to Coinbase Prime, according to the latest on-chain data. The transaction involved both Bitcoin and Ethereum and highlights continued institutional activity in the crypto market.

Transaction Overview

Recent blockchain records show that BlackRock moved a total of 1,814 BTC, valued at approximately $114.66 million, along with 24,472 ETH, worth around $44.57 million, to Coinbase Prime (24 Feb, 2026 11:32:09 UTC). The combined value of these deposits stands at roughly $159.23 million based on current market prices at the time of the transfer.

Platform Details: The funds were sent to Coinbase Prime, an institutional-grade platform designed to serve hedge funds, asset managers, corporations, and other large entities. Coinbase Prime offers custody, trading, and execution services tailored to institutional investors.

Institutional Activity in Crypto

Large-scale transfers are identified using wallet tracking and publicly available on-chain data. These transactions are recorded by blockchain monitoring platforms that track large wallet activity.

Previous on-chain records also show transfers involving both Bitcoin and Ethereum from wallets linked to BlackRock. On-chain activity linked to institutional wallets is monitored through publicly available blockchain data.

Market Data Context: At the time of the deposit: Bitcoin was trading near the $63,000 range, Ethereum was trading close to $1,820 (12:55 UTC on Tuesday, February 24). These price levels were used to estimate the dollar value of the transferred assets.
