Coinbase Markets announced it will suspend trading on six non-USD trading pairs, effective August 6, 2026. According to the announcement, the change follows Coinbase’s regular practice of monitoring the markets on its exchange.

The Six Pairs Being Suspended

The affected trading pairs, as named in Coinbase’s announcement, are:

  • LSETH-ETH
  • MINA-EUR
  • GRT-GBP
  • MASK-GBP
  • CHZ-USDT
  • CRO-USDT

Together, these six pairs cover four different quote currencies or assets: ETH, EUR, GBP, and USDT.

The Stated Reason for the Suspension

We regularly monitor the markets on our exchange. In an effort to improve overall market health and consolidate liquidity, we will be removing six non-USD trading pairs for supported assets.

We will suspend trading on the LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and…

— Coinbase Markets 🛡️ (@CoinbaseMarkets) August 5, 2026

Coinbase’s announcement gives a specific rationale: the exchange said it is removing these six non-USD trading pairs

“to improve overall market health and consolidate liquidity.”

The announcement frames the action as part of an ongoing process, noting that Coinbase “regularly monitor[s] the markets on our exchange.”

Trading Pairs, Not the Assets Themselves

A key distinction in Coinbase’s announcement is between the trading pairs being suspended and the underlying assets involved. The suspension applies specifically to the non-USD pairings: LSETH against ETH, MINA against EUR, GRT against GBP, MASK against GBP, CHZ against USDT, and CRO against USDT.

Coinbase’s announcement specifies that Coinbase Advanced Trade users in eligible regions can continue trading these six assets through USD order books after the suspension takes effect.

That means a trader who currently holds or trades, for example, GRT-GBP will still be able to trade GRT against USD on Coinbase Advanced Trade, provided they are in an eligible region.

Coinbase Institutional Exchange clients have until August 28, 2026 to opt out of the automatic migration to Deribit. Clients who do not opt out by the deadline will have their accounts, positions, and balances migrated on September 9, 2026.

Coinbase reported a net loss of $359.5 million for the second quarter on July 30, 2026, with more than half of the loss, $209.5 million attributed to declines in the value of its crypto investment holdings.
