Blockchain activity across major networks showed mixed trends during the week of July 13-19, 2026. Changes in total value locked (TVL), decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes, perpetual trading, stablecoin liquidity and transaction activity reflected shifting market conditions.

Ethereum maintained its position as the largest network by TVL, while Solana continued to record exceptionally high transaction volumes and DEX activity. BNB Chain maintained strong user activity, Tron led the group in stablecoin liquidity, Base experienced a weekend slowdown, and Bitcoin recorded the strongest percentage increase in dollar-denominated TVL.

Ethereum

Ethereum‘s TVL increased from $39.63 billion on July 13 to $40.96 billion on July 19, maintaining its position as the largest blockchain ecosystem in the group. Perpetual trading surged to a weekly high of $3.65 billion on July 16, reflecting heightened derivatives activity during the week’s market volatility. DEX volume peaked at $1.45 billion early in the week before declining to $440.12 million on July 19. Stablecoin capitalization remained broadly stable near $151 billion, while daily transactions ranged from 1.59 million to 2.99 million. The data indicates resilient underlying network activity despite a sharp weekend decline in trading volumes.

BNB Chain

BNB Chain recorded relatively stable DeFi conditions, with TVL remaining close to $4.9 billion throughout the week. DEX volume strengthened toward the end of the period, reaching $1.04 billion on July 19, the highest level recorded during the week. Perpetual trading remained comparatively low, although it increased to $2.63 million on July 19 from significantly lower levels earlier in the week. Stablecoin capitalization remained near $17.6 billion to $17.9 billion, while token market capitalization fluctuated modestly. Daily transactions remained above 13 million, highlighting sustained user activity across the network.

Solana

solana_tvl_trend (Jul 13-19)

Solana continued to record some of the highest levels of blockchain activity, processing between 72.59 million and 99.16 million transactions per day during the week. TVL remained broadly stable between $4.8 billion and $4.92 billion, while daily DEX volume exceeded $1 billion throughout the period. Perpetual trading reached a weekly peak of $2.12 billion on July 17, highlighting strong demand for leveraged trading. Stablecoin capitalization recovered to $15.75 billion by July 19 after declining earlier in the week. Despite lower weekend transaction and DEX volumes, Solana maintained strong throughput and significant DeFi participation.

Tron

tron_tvl_trend (Jul 13-19)

Tron continued to lead the networks covered in stablecoin liquidity, with its stablecoin market capitalization remaining above $90.4 billion throughout the week. TVL fluctuated within a relatively narrow range of $4.70 billion to $4.81 billion, indicating limited changes in locked assets. DEX volume remained modest, ranging from $23.99 million to $48.39 million. Daily transactions stayed above 11 million, reflecting continued network usage for payments and stablecoin transfers. The network’s token market capitalization remained close to $31 billion, pointing to relatively limited volatility during the period.

Base

base_tvl_trend (Jul 13-19)

Base recorded a modest increase in TVL, rising from $4.45 billion on July 13 to $4.58 billion on July 19. DEX volume peaked at approximately $1.20 billion on July 14 before declining sharply over the weekend. Perpetual trading also reached its weekly high of $375.25 million on July 14 before easing during the remainder of the period. Transaction activity peaked at 10.56 million on July 17 before falling to 6.05 million on July 19. Despite the weekend slowdown in trading and transaction activity, Base continued to maintain a substantial liquidity base within the Layer-2 ecosystem.

Bitcoin

bitcoin_tvl_trend (Jul 13-19)

Bitcoin recorded the strongest percentage increase in dollar-denominated TVL among the networks covered, rising from $3.49 billion to $4.23 billion during the week. DEX and perpetual trading volumes remained relatively small compared with smart contract platforms, although activity continued throughout the period. Bitcoin’s token market capitalization fluctuated between approximately $1.25 trillion and $1.30 trillion. Daily transactions reached a weekly high of 864,354 on July 19, marking a significant increase from several lower readings earlier in the week. The data points to stronger capital deployment across Bitcoin’s on-chain ecosystem alongside continued network utilization.

Conclusion

The week of July 13-19 highlighted distinct trends across the major blockchain ecosystems. Ethereum retained its clear TVL leadership and experienced a sharp midweek increase in perpetual trading, while Solana continued to combine high transaction throughput with strong DEX activity. BNB Chain maintained consistently high transaction volumes, and Tron remained the leading network for stablecoin liquidity. Base saw a notable decline in activity over the weekend despite stable TVL, while Bitcoin recorded the strongest percentage increase in dollar-denominated TVL and a late-week rise in transaction activity. Overall, the data points to a fragmented blockchain market in which capital, trading activity and user engagement continued to shift across networks rather than moving in a single direction.
