Aba, Abia State, Nigeria | August 7–8, 2026
Abia Web3 Network (AWN) will host the second edition of Abia Web3 & Digital Economy Conference (AWDEC2026) on August 7–8, 2026, at NOBIK International Event Centre, Aba, Abia State.
Organized in partnership with Abia State Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, AWDEC 2026 is a platform focused on digital innovation, entrepreneurship, technology adoption, and digital skills development across Nigeria and Africa.
With the theme, “Building Digital Economy,” the conference will bring together government officials, policymakers, regulators, investors, entrepreneurs, startup founders, developers, academics, students, corporate leaders, innovators, and technology communities to explore opportunities driving economic growth through technology and innovation.
AWDEC2026 builds on the success of its inaugural edition, which recorded 1,583 registrations, over 500 physical participants, and 20 ecosystem partners. The event also led to the establishment of Abia Web3 Network, which continues to drive ecosystem development, community engagement, digital skills initiatives, and technology-focused programs across Abia State and beyond.
Since its inception, AWDEC has served as a platform for connecting innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and technology communities while promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ecosystem growth.
AWDEC2026 will commence on August 7, 2026, with the AWDEC VIP Mixer & Stakeholders Dinner, an exclusive ticket-based gathering designed for government representatives, investors, founders, business leaders, development organizations, ecosystem builders, technology executives, and strategic partners.
The VIP Mixer & Stakeholders Dinner will provide an opportunity for high-level conversations on innovation, investment, digital infrastructure, talent development, policy, and economic growth. It is designed to encourage strategic partnerships, strengthen public-private sector collaboration, and facilitate meaningful engagement among key stakeholders shaping the future of the digital economy.
On August 8, 2026, the main conference will welcome participants from across Nigeria and beyond for keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, masterclasses, startup showcases, exhibitions, product demonstrations, fireside conversations, networking sessions, and community engagements.
AWDEC2026 will also feature the Blockchain Spelling Bee, an educational initiative aimed at promoting digital literacy, blockchain awareness, and technology education among secondary school students.
The conference seeks to strengthen collaboration between government, industry, academia, and technology communities while supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, talent development, investment, and digital inclusion.
Aba provides a strategic setting for the conference due to its strong entrepreneurial culture, manufacturing capacity, commercial activity, and growing innovation ecosystem. The city presents significant opportunities for the practical application of digital technologies across commerce, finance, manufacturing, education, and enterprise development.
Through its partnership with Abia State Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, AWDEC2026 aligns with ongoing efforts to expand digital opportunities, encourage innovation, support technology adoption, and strengthen economic growth through technology-driven development.
Speaking on the conference, the Convener of AWDEC, Raphael Omochor, said:
“AWDEC is a platform that connects people, ideas, institutions, and opportunities. Our goal is to create meaningful collaborations that support entrepreneurship, digital skills development, technology adoption, and sustainable economic growth. We are committed to building an ecosystem where innovation creates measurable impact and opportunities for all.”
AWDEC2026 is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants, including founders, developers, investors, policymakers, students, researchers, technology professionals, corporate executives, and ecosystem leaders from across Africa.
