Japan’s JPYC Stablecoin Tops $38M in Series B After Logistics-Firm Backing

JPYC, issuer of Japan’s yen-pegged stablecoin, has closed an additional ¥1,001,080,000 (about $6.35 million) from logistics holding company AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings. That brings cumulative Series B financing, three closes since February, to roughly ¥6 billion, about $38 million, per JPYC’s Aug. 5 release. JPYC has now completed seven distinct financing events since its 2021 Series A, including three undisclosed rounds between 2021 and 2024.

What AZ-COM’s stake is priced at

The pricing is precise: ¥8,630 per share, 116,000 Class B1 preferred shares, a 2.9% voting stake. Multiply it out and AZ-COM’s tranche alone is worth roughly 16.7% of JPYC’s total disclosed Series B raise ($6.35M of $37.75M across the three 2026 closes). The Series B round has now closed three times in six months, with the latest close revealing per-share pricing for the first time.

Seven rounds, five years, one label change

Round Date Amount Investors
Series A Nov 10, 2021 $4.40M Headline (lead), Circle
Undisclosed Jan 18, 2022 N/A Infinity Ventures Crypto
Undisclosed Jan 2, 2024 N/A Hyperithm
Undisclosed May 23, 2024 N/A AG Capital
Series B Feb 27, 2026 $11.90M Asteria (lead)
Extended Series B May 23, 2026 $19.50M Meiji Yasuda, Life Design Fund, IHD Strategy Fund, Awagin Capital
Extended Series B Aug 5, 2026 $6.35M AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings

The deal’s actual timeline

  • July 20: AZ-COM says it will adopt JPYC to pay roughly 2,300 logistics partners and contractors.
  • July 22: The two sign a capital-and-business alliance memorandum.
  • July 30: Payment date for the capital tranche.
  • Aug. 5: The close is formally announced.

Four dated milestones in sixteen days, ending in one funding disclosure.

What JPYC’s own framing leaves out

JPYC’s release ties the AZ-COM deal to Japan’s July 21 cabinet policy naming “on-chain finance” a national priority. The investment also comes as funding for non-dollar stablecoin issuers gains momentum globally. Euro-pegged stablecoin projects have attracted fresh capital since MiCA took effect, while yen-backed issuers are now seeing similar investor interest. JPYC’s three Series B closes in 2026 reflect that broader funding trend. The latest round also expands its strategic backing beyond fintech investors into Japan’s logistics sector, as the country’s stablecoin ecosystem continues to evolve with developments such as the JPYSC lending service.

One Investment, Comparable to the Stablecoin’s Circulating Supply

JPYC’s circulating token supply is estimated to be in roughly the same range as AZ-COM’s single $6.35 million investment, though figures vary across blockchain networks. That comparison highlights the scale of the latest funding round: one corporate investor’s commitment is now close to the size of the stablecoin’s outstanding float, a milestone none of JPYC’s three previous 2026 Series B closes reached individually. The funding could also support broader adoption of JPYC stablecoin payment use cases as the company expands its ecosystem. Separately, JPYC’s market cap has reportedly climbed about 59.5% over the past month, with one data provider citing a steeper 132.8% increase specifically on Polygon.
