- Metaplanet sent 1,350 BTC, worth about $108 million, to Coinbase Prime in six transactions on Aug. 28, according to on-chain data.
- It is the second such deposit in three days, following a 1,000 BTC transfer to the same custodian on Aug. 25.
- Metaplanet’s total holdings remain at 43,000 BTC, and the company has not commented on either transfer.
Metaplanet sent another 1,350 bitcoin to Coinbase Prime on Friday, according to on-chain data tracked by Arkham Intelligence.

The transfer moved across six separate transactions worth a combined $107.9 million, the largest a single 771 BTC batch worth $61.6 million.
Second transfer follows 1,000 BTC deposit
It is the second time in three days that Metaplanet has sent bitcoin to Coinbase Prime. On Aug. 25, the company moved 1,000 BTC, worth about $79.8 million, to the same custodian.
That marks a change from Metaplanet’s most recent large transfer before it. On Aug. 12, the company moved 5,014 BTC, worth about $320 million at the time, but kept the coins inside its own custodial wallets rather than sending them to an exchange-linked custodian.
CEO Simon Gerovich said at the time: “We transferred 5,014 BTC between Metaplanet custodial addresses… No bitcoin was sold.”
Coinbase Prime provides custody, financing and trading services, so a deposit there does not by itself confirm a sale is planned. Metaplanet has not said why it moved bitcoin to the custodian on either Aug. 25 or Aug. 28.
43,000-BTC treasury remains unchanged

Strategy leads corporate bitcoin holdings with 840,447 BTC, far ahead of other companies. Metaplanet ranks third with 43,000 BTC, just behind Twenty One Capital’s 43,514 BTC. The figures highlight Metaplanet’s position among the world’s largest corporate bitcoin holders.
The company’s bitcoin holdings have stood at 43,000 BTC since early July, worth about $3.4 billion at current prices. Metaplanet is sitting on an unrealized loss of roughly 17%, down from about 34% in mid-August when bitcoin traded near $64,000.
A separate, unrelated deal is also in progress. Metaplanet agreed on Aug. 18 to put 2,100 BTC into Super League Enterprise to help launch a U.S. bitcoin treasury vehicle called Superplanet, a transaction expected to close in the fourth quarter.
